Do you have clients who grip their hip flexors and are unable to differentiate the femur from the pelvis? Do you personally suffer from tight hips? Hip, hip, hurray – help is on the way. Discover strategies for working with tight hip flexors to improve initiation and execution and to bring better balance to the body. We’ll start with a brief review of the basic anatomy of the hips, explore common causes of hip pain, learn how to do a postural evaluation focusing on the hips and then dive into Pilates movement patterns that may need correcting in tight hips. Tight hips are common and impact posture and function. Experience the difference a class with a focus on the hips can feel like in your own body and take home new ways to provide hip help for your students.
